Artwork Positioning System

Software

  1. Download the Software here 
  2. Unzip the folder and run the setup wizard
  3. Select the DTG printer you are using for the setup

What's Included

Setup

  1. Screw the stand into the base.
  2. Screw the Ball Head on the Camera Stand.
  3. Screw the HD Camera on the Ball Head
  4. Clamp the Camera Base to the table using the C-Clamp
  5. Use the 2 knobs on the Camera Stand to position the Camera over the Setup Station.
  6. Clamp the Setup Station to table using the second C-Clamp. Alternatively, you can screw the Setup Station on the table as well (screws not included) Make sure the Setup Station is facing the correct direction, the circle studs should be closest to you.
  7. Use the Velcro strips to secure the camera wire to the Camera Stand.
  8. Plug the HD Camera Cable into the computer.

Setting up the Camera (Software)

  1. Go to the Tools (at the top) and click Options
  2. Click on the Camera tab in the left sidebar
  3. In the Camera: drop down select the HD Cam option. If it doesn't appear, click the + button to add it
  4. Then click Save and Close
  5. Double click on the Tab you're using
  6. Click on the Media Setup tab in the left sidebar
  7. In the Camera: drop down select the HD Cam option. If it doesn't appear, click the + button to add it
  8. Click OK

Calibrating the Camera

  1. Drop in the Key Print Co. 14x16 Transportable Platen on the Setup Stat and lock it in
  2. Adjust the Camera Stand (using the knobs) so the HD Camera is above and in the center of the platen. You don't want the camera to be angled.
  3. [On the computer] Click the Calibrate Camera button in the top tool bar
  4. Click the Step 1 button (then click OK)
  5. The Calibration Print Image will load to print
  6. Make sure the platen size is 14x16 in the drop down menu
  7. Click the Print Job button in the top tool bar to send the job to the printer
  8. Drop the 14x16 Transportable Platen into the Master Adaptor on your DTG Printer
  9. Load a white or light colored test shirt on the Platen
  10. Secure it down with the 14x16 Locking Hoop
  11. Raise the Platen as high as possible without setting off the height sensor
  12. Print the Calibration Image on the shirt
  13. When the print is complet, unlock the platen and transport it to the Setup Station
  14. [On the computer] Click the Calibrate Camera button in the top tool bar
  15. Click the Step 2 button
  16. In the Camera Position window use the live preview to make sure the entire platen is in view and that it's as straight as possible. Adjust the HD Camera and 14x16 Platen if needed.
  17. Once you're happy with the setup, click Next 
  18. Select the Accuracy Level 3 option in the dropdown menu
  19. Drag and drop the cross hair targets with their corresponding number by lining it up to the intersetion on the platen
  20. Zoom in if you want to get a closer view of the targets for better alignment
  21. Go around the Platen and match up all of the targets
  22. Use the visual on the right side of the screen to see the accuracy of the calibration. The Red and Black Shapes and lines should overlap as much as possible for better accuracy.
  23. When all of the targets have been placed and you're happy with the alignment click Apply

Using the APS Camera

After you calibrate the APS Camera you can use it to print with any Key Print Co. Transportable Platens! Just make sure the platen size in the software is set to 14x16 for all the platens.
  1. Drop in any Key Print Co. Transportable Platen on the Setup Station and lock it in
  2. Load the apparel on the Platen
  3. Click the APS Camera Button (aka Update Queue Background Image)
  4. The background will update with a real time image of the apparel on platen
  5. Load your artwork into the software by drag and dropping it in
  6. Place the artwork where you want it to print on the apparel
  7. NOW, you will get a preview of how the artwork will look on the apparel so you can re-size or make any adjusts to the artwork BEFORE You Print!
  8. When you're happy with the artwork size, placement and settings click the Print Job button in the top tool bar to send the job to the printer
  9. Then just take the Platen to the printer, print the design and you're all done!
